Today is the last day to sign up for BBQ plates for our picnic on Friday July 23rd.  You may sign up in the front lobby or by filling out the form that was emailed.  Even if you can't make the picnic, grab your dinner to go!

MCDC Families and Staff,

 

You are cordially invited to Marshall Child Development Center’s 31st Anniversary Picnic on Friday July 23, 2021 from 5:45pm-7:00pm.

 

We will have a bounce house available for children ages 3 and up on the preschool playground and a bounce house on the explorer playground for children ages 2 and under.

 

Need Dinner??  We have you covered. We will be selling BBQ plates for $10 each.  Each plate will have BBQ Pork, Baked Beans, Potato Salad and a Roll.  MCDC will provide drinks, popsicles and a small chip bag for the kiddos.  Please sign up by emailing me the form that was emailed or signing up in the front lobby.  Payment made to MCDC by check, cash, or pay pal marshallchilddevelopmentcenter@gmail.com.  A portion of the proceeds from the BBQ plates will go back to MCDC! Sign up by Friday July 16th. 

 

Not a BBQ fan?  Bring your own picnic dinner and join us on the playgrounds or in the cafeteria to eat!  Bring your picnic blankets and chairs!

REMINDER!!

 

MCDC Parents,

 

Our annual Fourth of July Parade will be TOMORROW  Thursday July 1, 2021.  We will begin lining up at 9:00am.  We cross over Morris Road, circle the parking lot of the facilities building, and return to the center.  We will have security escorts.

 

Please ensure that your child is dropped off and there are no vehicles in the front parking lot by 9am that morning.

 

If you plan on participating in the parade (which we love!) please park next door at the medical center.

 

Feel free to bring wagons, strollers, etc…. and decorate with patriotic bling! Older children are allowed to bring riding toys/bicycles, but only if they have a parent to escort and they must stay with their class.  No motorized vehicles please.

 

Infant and Creeper parents: please let your child’s teacher know if you will be participating and providing a stroller.  That way we will know how many “seats” we need. 

 

 

We will line up in the following order in the parking lot (not on the sidewalk):

Preschool A

Preschool B

Preschool C

Explorer A

Explorer B

Toddler A

Toddler B

 

You may wait outside for your child’s classroom to come out.  We will start lining up at 9am. 

 

We will have popsicles in the classrooms to help everyone cool down after the parade.

It is CRUNCH TIME! We are still $695.00 away from our goal for donations, need more sign ups for treats on Monday and Thursday, and have hardly gotten any submissions for the teachers memory books.

 

Folders are up front to place your artwork/pictures in.  Details and a list of staff are below.  Please remember to include the staff member’s name and everything needs to be on an 8 ½ X 11 piece of paper.

 

Please, please, please help us show our staff how much we appreciate them!!  The days are long and the work is exhausting.  Let’s lift them up!!

MCDC Staff Appreciation Week will be held the week of June 7th-11th, 2021.   This is an annual tradition at MCDC, and it is important that we let the staff know how much their efforts mean to us, as parents, since they take such tender care of our precious children every day! This event is made possible by parent volunteers and donations, so please help us build them UP.

Unlike years past, where we have asked for volunteers to watch children for lunchtime, this year we are treating the staff to a catered lunch during their scheduled lunch breaks on Wednesday June 9th.   This is when we will pass out their memory books and gift cards.   

How can you help?

  • Give UP a (voluntary) donation of at least $20 per child is requested to fund the lunch and a gift card for each staff member. More generous donations will be greatly appreciated!  Staff Appreciation Week is funded exclusively through donations and not supplemented by MCDC operational funds. Are you ready to READ??  The Scholastic Book Fair is all set up!!  We have so many great selections for you to choose from, and several options for purchasing.  You may shop starting today through next Friday May 21st. 

 

  • Visit our library and choose your selections for either home or the classrooms.  Each classroom has a bin of preferred books and/or lists of books they would love for their classroom.  You may check out at the front desk.  We will only be taking payment by credit card or check.
