It is hard to believe but it is that time of year again, Belk Fall Charity Sale. MCDC has set a goal to sell 80 tickets. The charity sale tickets almost sell themselves. Many people in the community are familiar with the sale and are looking for tickets. We have tickets and sale ads at the front desk. If you are interested in supporting this fundraiser, please stop by and purchase a ticket for yourself and/or grab a stack to sell to your friends, family, co-workers, church members, hair salon, etc. !
 
The details for the sale are listed below. 
 
•    $5/ticket, MCDC keeps the entire $5
•    Our goal is to sell 80 tickets. That would be $400 profit, but we can always request more tickets and increase our profit!
•    Ticket gets you into the Fall Belk Charity Sale on November 8 from 6 am -10 am, to shop and save 20%-70% off throughout the store!
•    Each customer will receive $5 off their first purchase, essentially getting back the $5 they spent on the ticket. 
•    All Belk stores in the US are having a Fall Charity Sale on the same day, and this ticket would get you into any of those sales. So sell tickets to out of town family and friends!
•    IF you have a Belk charge card:
o    Receive Double & Triple reward points on charity sale purchases.
o    Combine the "no exclusions" coupon with the charity sale prices. Therefore, save this coupon for the charity sale!
o    Pre-sale anytime the week before the sale, and receive the charity sale prices. The store will hold your purchases, ring them up during the sale hours, and you can pick them up after the sale. 
 
I am excited to see how many tickets MCDC can sell! Let's beat our goal of 80 tickets!
 
Lastly - Would any of you be interested in volunteering 2.5 hours for the Belk Sale? 
 
Last year two parents volunteered their time and this earned the MCDC an additional $150. 
 
We only need 2 volunteers for a total of 5 hours to earn the extra money. Please let Kelli know if you are interested in volunteering!

Join us this Thursday from 11:30am-1:30pm in the Library for the Usborne Book Fair!! There will be books on hand to purchase or you may place an order.  Great Christmas Gifts!!  MCDC will earn money towards the purchase of new books for our library.  The classrooms will also have wish lists posted for books they would like for their classrooms.  

Great News!  Your dinner plans are all set for tomorrow night! No pots, no pans, no clean up; just show up!

Power to our building has been restored!!

The power at the center is currently out. Power went out around 2:20pm. Updates will be posted here. I will post here and make phone calls if we need to close.

MCDC Preschool Parents:

We have a field trip scheduled to Lyon Family Farm http://www.lyonfamilyfarms.com/  on Friday September 26th.  We will leave the center at 8:30am and return around 1:30pm.  Cost will be $10.00 per person and checks need to be made payable to MCDC.  We will pay for everyone at the farm.  If anyone will be meeting us at the farm, please have them make payment to MCDC.  We need to have an accurate head count when we arrive.

Jeans and tennis shoes or boots are suggested.  We will be going on a hayride to pick pumpkins and the ground is sometimes muddy.  You may pack a lunch or purchase lunch at the farm.  We will need to know if you are going to purchase lunch at the farm before the field trip.  We will gather that information as the time gets closer.

We will be posting signs and having you fill out permission forms the week before the field trip.

The workday scheduled for this Saturday has been moved to Saturday September 20th from 8am-12pm.  Please make plans to join us!  Be on the lookout for more information about the needs in each classroom.
