MCDC Front Entrance Unavailable During Construction

MCDC Parents:

Beginning this Monday October 24th, there will be construction in the front of the building that will obstruct the front entrance.  The construction will be taking place between the hours of 8AM-3:30PM; however, the entrance will be blocked outside of these hours as well.  We are having cement bollards installed.  We are optimistically hoping that the construction will last no longer than two weeks.

While under construction, everyone will have to use the playground entrances and back doors to drop off and pick up.  During the main hours of drop off (6:45am-8:45am) the playground gates will be propped open and during the main pick up times (3:45pm-5:45pm).  In the event that the preschoolers are on their playground, you will have to ask one of the teachers to open that gate.  Please be very conscientious of the children when entering the gates on the playgrounds.  Please make sure that the gates close tightly behind you.

If you are dropping off or picking up during hours other than those listed above; please call us at 256-544-8609 and we will assist you.

Only the MCDC staff members have keycard access to the back entrances.  You will need to knock on the doors to the classrooms.  I know this is going to be extremely inconvenient, but please be patient.  Be aware that drop off and pick up will take longer than normal so allot yourself some extra time.  You will drop off and pick up in same classrooms that you typically drop off and pick up in.  Since your routine will be different, don’t forget to sign your child in and out each day.  We will try and make this process as simple as possible for everyone.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
